Chilled-out base for exploring Nizwa. We had the double room and it was pleasant. You can see the courtyard from your window.
The hotel is located outside of Nizwa and requires a rental car (a car is sufficient - the roads are excellent). But it is centrally located for excursions in the surrounding area: to the east, the worth seeing oasis Birkat is quickly reached and the beginning of the route into the magnificent Jebel Akhdar Mountains (at the first roundabout in Birkat you can rent a small four-wheel drive car for one day, which is required by the police for this only steep, but otherwise completely unproblematic tarred road). To the northwest, after about 15 km you reach Nizwa (visit the animal market on Fridays and be there before 7.00 a.m. otherwise there are no more parking spaces and the market has already started, breakfast can be taken at the hotel afterwards) or a few kilometers before the road to Al Hamra and the mountain village Misfah as well as up to the Jebel Shams (car drivers can cover the last 12 kilometers of gravel road with Omanis waiting there by 4-wheel drive - it is worth the money). To the southwest the highway takes you first past the new great Sultan Qaboos Mosque (can be visited in parts) and then to the worth seeing fortresses Jabrin and Hisn Tamah in Bahla. We stayed 4 nights in a hotel and the time was also used for the excursions. The room was quiet and well equipped. After our excursions we especially liked the pool - a real oasis to relax with pool bar. We always ate in the late afternoon in the restaurant of the hotel. We liked the dishes, the beer prices were the cheapest on our tour through Oman.
We were satisfied.
The hotel is located away from Nizwa. It is furnished in typical Arabic style and has a pool with shady trees and parasols in the courtyard, as well as a pool bar. The rooms, all at ground level, have a tiny terrace with chairs and table. In the evening you can relax in the Shisha Bar under the stars or have a cool blonde drink in the Al Wasit Lounge Bar.
There is actually nothing negative. But if you want to spend your holiday here to experience something, you need a car, better still a 4x4 SUV. Because otherwise you're pretty much stuck, because it's already a few km to the city, too far to walk and you won't get to see the brilliant destinations like fortresses, mountains, canyons, abandoned villages. It is simply too boring to lie only at the pool, as the most beautiful thing of this area will be missed.
The pool is the best thing about the hotel. The staff are helpful and they do a fantastic curry from the room service/pool side menu.
The rooms could do with an update. There is not really a choice when staying at Nizwa but they could do with a bit of an upgrade. B'fast the 1st morning was average but better on the 2nd morning.
This is one of the few hotels available in the Nizwa area. Being a member of the Golden Tulip chain, guests are confident of a certain standard. Delicious Indian food in the restaurant at dinner.
For the second time in a month we were given a smoking room. The explanation was that the hotel was fully booked. In fact, the hotel was not fully booked. Gulf Region hotels need to move into the 21st century and provide Non-smoking wings/floors.
Pool food the room. the staff also located between the mountain and the canyon are not too far away
Nice view... lovely staff Not far from old market
Far away frim city center and souq.
From arrival ( bellboy) to resteraunt staff all very helpful and good with local knowledge nothing to much trouble
Location is good. It's clean and well maintained. Free internet.
The beds are very hard. No pool bar in day time. The pool was not heated as promised in advertisement. And there was no atmosphere in the restaurant, very bright lights above the table and no music. Missed fresh Seafood on the menu.
at booking time i booked with breakfast and dollar rate at checking breakfast i had to pay and prices were above the rate i booked
Excellent hotel Cheerful staff Brilliant meals
I got a reasonably OK deal including half board. hotel lobby / reception is grand and very nicely decorated, quiet and peaceful. only the restaurant staff were attentive. set menu meals were very good (buffet not so). rooms - spacious, clean, most facilities as expected. pool was clean and quiet.
staff could be more friendly given there were hardly any other guests staying there - i was only asked once if everything was OK. restaurant took forever to cook meals. buffet was not the worst but i expected better from this hotel. not much happening in the hotel. location is too far out from the town of nizwa or any other shops. there were small things that let this hotel down e.g. for this type of hotel to provide things like disposable dental kit, razor, shoe polish, bath robe/slippers etc. overall the lack of interest from the staff have ensured that staying there was a forgettable experience so if i ever pass through nizwa again unlikely that I would book here.
The location is good.we have stayed 3times before and the food and customer service has definitely improved
Location, Friendly Staff, Facilities, Cleanliness, Swimming Pool, Atmosphere & Food.
Parking the vehicle at own risk. Being a 4star hotel there should be a security system as most of the visitors are strange to the place and are with their own vehicles.
